Ryan Briscoe has undergone successful surgery to his broken right wrist following his accident in Saturday’s IndyCar race at Toronto.

Briscoe will be evaluated on Wednesday, and then again on July 30, at which point he is expected to be fitted for a carbon fibre splint.
“Big thanks to everybody at the Indiana Orthopedic Hospital for the great hospitality and speedy surgery,” Briscoe said.
“Everybody at the hospital, and all of the IndyCar medical staff, have done a great job taking good care of me and I can’t thank them enough.
“I’m feeling good and can’t wait to get back behind the wheel.”
Briscoe suffered the injury when he was caught up in the tail end of an accident between Justin Wilson and Charlie Kimball, which sent Kimball’s car into the path of Briscoe’s.
His best prognosis is for a return at the next race at Mid-Ohio on August 4th, although a final decision will be made once his recovery has been assessed.
