The Enstone-based outfit's design, which features a twin-tusk solution to the sport's controversial new nose height regulations, was absent from the first test at the Circuito de Jerez, with extra car preparation required.

Former Williams driver Pastor Maldonado completed 100km in the car during a private promotional day at Jerez earlier this month, while Romain Grosjean has been entrusted with the first full day of testing in the Middle East.

Over the winter, Lotus has lost Kimi Räikkönen to Ferrari and former team boss Eric Boullier to McLaren.
